At our practice, we understand the importance of comfort and accessibility for expectant mothers and their families.
Our spacious waiting area includes ample room for additional seating, stroller accommodation, and a delightful toy section that keeps children entertained—a testament to our family-friendly atmosphere, often fondly referred to as a “playground” by our youngest visitors. Our TV constantly displays a playlist of pictures of babies and their mums, providing happy viewing for women while they wait to be seen. However, we pride ourselves on being as close to on-time as possible so as to not inconvenience our clientele.

Dr. Sophie Vavladelis
Women's Health General Practitioner (GP)
Dr Vavladelis enhances our practice with her expertise in holistic pregnancy care, focusing not only on the growth of your baby but also on your well-being. She is especially passionate about promoting mental health and healthy eating during pregnancy, which is crucial for optimising both maternal and baby health. Understanding and addressing depression early in pregnancy is a key aspect of her care, ensuring you receive the support you need during this pivotal time.
Edwina Chan
Women's Health Physiotherapist
Understanding the physical demands of pregnancy, Edwina is here to support you with specialised physiotherapy. Whether it's preparing for childbirth or recovering postpartum, she provides expert care for pelvic floor disorders and musculoskeletal issues, ensuring your comfort and health throughout your maternal journey.

Sarah
Secretary
Sarah has been closely associated with A/Prof Karantanis for over 16 years in both professional and personal capacities. For the past seven years, she has been an integral part of his team, and A/Prof Karantanis personally managed her pregnancies, overseeing the safe delivery of her two sons.
With a background in medical reception within the Obstetrics & Gynaecology industry, Sarah brings valuable experience to her role. Outside of work, she enjoys cake making and is an active volunteer for Era SLSC Nippers and Sylvania Bulldogs Rugby Union Club, where she delights in watching her children learn new skills, socialise, and have fun.
Nicole
Secretary
Being a mother of three, Nicole has been an integral part of A/Prof Karantanis’ team for the last 9 years, affectionately known as the 'Friday Girl.'
With over twenty years of experience in various medical offices, she finds the calming nature and approach of A/Prof Karantanis to create one of the most pleasant working environments she has known. Nicole notes that many patients return to the practice, a testament to their positive experiences and the exceptional care they receive.
Paula
Secretary
For the past 4 years, Paula has provided reception and administrative support at Dr Karantanis' office. She enjoys her role immensely, particularly the interactions with patients, and is dedicated to delivering high-quality customer service. Paula is often the first point of contact for patients, always eager to assist in any way she can. She finds it incredibly rewarding to see mothers return for their subsequent pregnancies, reflecting the deep trust and satisfaction they have with the care provided.
Paula is a mother of two which enhances her empathy and understanding of the patients' needs.
Sophia
Practice Manager
Sophia's role involves managing the administrative and accounting aspects of the office. She greatly enjoys meeting and connecting with the women who come to the practice. Over the past 19 years, Sophia has witnessed the transformation of young women into pregnant mothers and seen them grow their families, providing her with a deep sense of fulfillment and connection to the community she serves.
Outside of work, Sophia leads an active life with her two children. She enjoys running, playing tennis, and cooking, activities that keep her energized and engaged.
